Dr. Robert Sorrentino is the founding periodontist and heart of the practice, with nearly 40 years of experience dedicated to periodontal and surgical care. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Theology from St. John’s University, then graduated in the top 10% of his class from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. His advanced training includes a hospital residency at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical Center and two years of specialty training in Periodontics at New York University. Dr. Sorrentino has lived and practiced on Staten Island since 1989, building long-standing relationships within the community and earning a reputation for excellence, integrity, and compassionate care. Outside the operatory, Dr. Sorrentino is an avid golfer who takes every opportunity to perfect his swing, whether that means practicing right in the office or playing rounds across the globe. Known for his energy, warmth, and sense of humor, Dr. Sorrentino brings the same enthusiasm to his patients and team as he does to the game he loves. A passionate traveler, he enjoys exploring new countries, golfing wherever he goes. Equally important to Dr. Sorrentino is his family. Married for over 30 years, he is a devoted husband and proud father, well-known for his legendary collection of dad jokes that keep both patients and staff smiling.

Bogdan Nykyforuk is a dedicated dental hygienist with a strong passion for preventive care, patient education, and community outreach. His journey into dentistry was deeply shaped by his upbringing in a country where oral health education was limited and the dental hygiene profession did not exist. These early experiences inspired his commitment to ensuring others have access to the knowledge and resources needed to maintain lifelong oral health. Bogdan’s clinical skill set includes comprehensive patient education, periodontal disease management, dental radiography, local anesthesia administration, Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT), oral cancer screenings, implant maintenance, and preventive services such as fluoride applications and sealants for both children and adults. He is also proficient in modern dental software and is committed to maintaining the highest standards in infection control, documentation, and patient safety. Community service is an important part of Bogdan’s professional identity. He has participated in outreach initiatives educating young children on proper oral hygiene and applying fluoride varnish to help prevent dental caries, reinforcing his belief in early intervention and prevention.

Nicole brings enthusiasm, dedication, and a genuine love for patient care to the practice. Her journey in dentistry began at Tottenville High School, where she discovered her passion through the school’s dental program. Since the age of 17, Nicole has worked in dental offices, gaining valuable hands-on experience while building meaningful, long-lasting relationships with patients. At NYU, Nicole continues to refine her clinical skills in a supportive, patient-centered environment, guided by the encouragement of her friends, family, and colleagues. Known for her warm, friendly demeanor and positive energy, Nicole helps create a welcoming atmosphere for every patient she meets.

Desire has been a passionate dental assistant since 2015, beginning her career shortly after graduating from St. Paul’s Dental Assisting Program. She loves working in dentistry because it allows her to help patients feel comfortable, cared for, and confident about their smiles. Over the years, Desire has become known for her friendly personality, patience, and strong attention to detail, always going the extra mile to support both her patients and her team. Outside the office, Desire’s favorite role is being a mom. She treasures spending time with her daughter, whether they’re exploring the outdoors, reading together, or simply sharing everyday laughs.

Sadé is the Office Manager for Dr. Sorrentino’s periodontal practice and the friendly face keeping the office running smoothly. She oversees daily operations, including scheduling, administrative and insurance processes, and staff coordination, while serving as a central point of communication between patients, providers, and the clinical team. Known for her clear communication, organizational skills, and attentive approach, Sade ensures every patient feels heard, supported, and comfortable. Outside the office, Sade is an active volunteer with New York Cares, contributing to initiatives across New York City, including tax preparation assistance, educational support, and neighborhood revitalization projects.
